In this easy to read book, the author starts with God- the living and true God and His eternal decrees- and works through the creation of man in God's image, the fall, and the consequences of sin. All works towards sinners saved by grace alone. \\nThis as an excellent treatment of who man really is, suitable for both news believers needing to be grounded in sound doctrine, and, as a helpful refresher for older believers to keep them """"on track"""". \\n

Easy to understand
This is a book about the doctrine of man. It was written as radio broadcasts much like C. S. Lewis' Mere Christianity and in that sense has a similar feel in terms of its readability. \\nHowever, Machen goes much deeper into doctrine but still in a easy to understand way. He is unashamedly teaching the Reformed faith with many of his topics guided by the Westminster Shorter Catechism. This type of writing is what the church needs more of, solid biblical teaching explained in fairly simple terms in an engaging and interesting manner.
