The frenetic pace of 'being busy' can pose a serious threat to our physical, social, and even spiritual wellbeing. In this "mercifully short book about a really big problem," Kevin DeYoung helps readers to strike a mature and well-reasoned balance between doing nothing and doing everything.
*I&'m too busy.* We&'ve all heard it, we&'ve all said it. Sometimes being busy seems like the theme of our lives. Yet this frenetic pace poses a serious threat to our physical, social, and even spiritual well-being. In this mercifully short book about a really big problem, best-selling author Kevin DeYoung rejects the &"busyness as usual&" mindset, arguing that a life of constant chaos is far from what God intends. Excellent diagnosis for our busy and distracted soul
We cannot deny that we are living in a busy and noisy world. This book helps us to step back from our busyness and diagnose the root cause of our busyness. It is easy and enjoyable to read (only 90 pages), full of biblical wisdom and highly practical. I would highly recommend this book for every Christian who want to make the best use of their limited time here on earth to be not just busy, but more productive for the Kingdom of God.
Here are a couple of my favourite quotes:
""I have often marveled to think that Jesus was so terrifically busy, but only with the things he was supposed to be doing""
""One reason we never tame the busyness beast is because we are unwilling to kill anything. ""

A Must-Read for Busy Christians!
Too often we get carried away by the busyness of life - particularly for modern society that increasingly find it difficult to 'turn off'. Deyoung's short but insightful book gives busy Christians an opportunity to stop, think and question the reason behind our everyday busyness. Deyoung challenges us to search within our hearts for answers and to refocus our priorities onto Jesus. I read this in one sitting and am super encouraged - a must read for anyone struggling with being 'busy'!

Transforming
One of the best books on the topic of busyness. Deyoung takes aim at the heart issues and challenges the lies we believe and live by. Refreshingly short and simple, yet profound and challenging! I found it so helpful I gave one to my pastor. But a must read for anyone who feels the rush and busyness of life.

A Must-Read Book for Every Christian
Kevin DeYoung has written a book that should be made compulsory reading for every Christian. Addressing the issue of busyness, DeYoung highlights three dangers of busyness: it can ruin our joy, rob our hearts and cover up the rot in our souls. He also provides seven diagnoses why we are or need to be busy and suggest some solutions or perspectives. The book concludes with a poignant challenge: we won't say no to more busyness unless we say yes to having more of Jesus. This small book is sure to challenge us to make significant changes in our lives. Highly recommended!
