Dinosaurs For Kids

In this book, Ham explains the historical evidence related to dinosaurs and says how best to interpret it. Although the way the book is written--with pictures, charts, etc. --suggests that it is written for kids, the content of the book seems more directed at grown-ups. Ham argues that some competing interpretations of the evidence--such as an old earth or evolutionary view--are fictional; those who hold such views might find their ideas challenged by this book. Although the book is brief, it does not compromise on rigour: Ham shows how his views are supported by fossil and other kinds of evidence.

For kids who love dinosaurs, and have questions that are readily addressed at their level by the secular world, without a counter by Christian writers, this book is great! One thing I love most about this book is the author's unbridled passion for dinosaurs, and the fact that he doesn't have to put them in that awkward unanswered questions box, where we tend to put the things we don't really have any answers to! He loves them just because, competently uses the Bible to put them into context and a timeframe, and yet doesn't pretend to have every answer either. He makes it simple for kids to understand where and how dinosaurs fit in to history, and keeps it fun at the same time. Definitely worth buying if you have children interested in dinosaurs, but you don't believe the secular explanations of when they lived and how they got here!
