Do You Feel Called By God?

Often spiritual language can be thrown around in a sense to 'bless' the things that we want or desire. Not that its bad to want something good! But what does the Bible say about how God calls people to himself? Instead of worrying about whether we're fitting into """"God's plan for my life"""" why don't you get out and start living it! God's call on our lives is that as soon as we trust in Jesus Christ, we are in ministry. It's a broad call but its what the Bible says. . ! (Acts 2:17-18)

This is an engaging, simple, yet clear book that aims to break down the idea of feeling a subjective 'calling' from God. Bennett develops a convincing argument based on his own experience, but most importantly, based on his extensive study of the bible on how and when the word 'called' is used. Bennett doesn't just dispel the idea that a subjective call from God is the norm, but further gives frameworks to believers as to how they might consider full-time ordained christian ministry. \\r\\nThis is a fantastic little book, and you don't need to be considering full-time ordained ministry in order to benefit from it. I believe it has significant implications on how we also think through and live out other areas of our lives as God has called us to live through His word.

I really enjoyed this book, particularly the way in which Michael Bennet has looked closely at the scriptures to to shine a new light on what it means to have a calling from God. This book was very applicable to my life and I found it very helpful in shattering myths that I had thoughtlessly believed for my entire life. If you are considering what it means to be called by God then I would definitely recommend reading this book. If you are considering entering vocational ministry, this book is a must read!
