**Do you ever forget to remember what's true? Well, sometimes remembering is hard to do!**

In this delightful board book, Ellie Holcomb uses rhyme and beauty to remind young readers of comforting truths from God. When they see snowflakes fall, they can remember that God made each of us as one of a kind. If they hear the waves crash to shore again and again, they'll recall that God's love never runs out. High and low, on sad days and glad days, creation reminds us that God's love is ever present. Ellie ends her comforting reminder with a message for hearts young and old ... "And even on days you forget what is true, don't forget to remember God won't forget you."

Ellie is partnering once again with illustrator Kayla Harren, who worked with her to create *Who Sang the First Song?,* a nominee for a 2019 Christian Book Award. *Don't Forget to Remember* lives in this same lovely and lyrical world, one where children and animals are the best of friends and every scene celebrates the beauty of God's creation.

    So beautiful

I love reading this book to my daughter - the pictures are absolutely beautiful and she loves all the colours and animals. Plus it is weaved with such a beautiful truth which is easy to remember with the rhyming in the book. I love it so much I have purchased extras as baby shower gifts.

Sweet Poem for Talking to Children about God's Character

Illustrated with lovely, whimsical scenes of children and animals in nature- this book is beautiful. I expect that younger children will understand the vocabulary but miss much of the meditative meaning if they don't yet understand similes and comparisons. But that wouldn't stop us from reading Psalm 23 to them! My Son is 20m old and enjoys the illustrations, but at this point the message is more for me and I try to use it as a jumping off point for ideas of what to teach him about God.

Here's my interpretation of the text:

    Ellie Holcomb starts by writing,

""Did you know creation is talking to you

Wherever you go and whatever you do?

The earth will keep giving you clue after clue

So you don't forget to remember what's true. ""

The pages following list some of creation's beauties - the warmth of the sun, birds singing, snowflakes, spring flowers, storms and rainbows, the vast ocean, wind in sails, the sunrise, stars, etc. For each one the author shares something about God that we can remember when we see that thing. These are her own comparisons. I don't think they are intended to be based on Bible verses, although certain phrases may sound familiar as if from the Bible. For example, ""And after the winter and cold are all through, The flowers remind you God makes all things new. ""

A lovely book to read aloud again and again

My daughter (2yrs) and I love reading this book over and over. The idea of 'remembering to remember' what is true is important for both of us, at any age! The illustrations are especially lush - beautiful pictures of children and animals, deep colours and delightful scenes. A lovely book for a birthday or baby shower gift.

    Beautiful words

The author uses this book to remind children how loved they are by God and how this is evident in nature. She also has a song for the book too, which is such a great song to sing before bed. I also love a good board book too for the tactile benefits.
