Ephesians For You (God's Word For You Series)

This is another great commentary from the God's Word for you series. This isn't a particularly exegetical commentary, but its certainly a helpful commentary in explaining the text and giving application for it. Highly recommended to use this for personal devotions and preparing bible studies.

The 'For You' series by the Good Book Company are a well needed addition to the 'commentary world'. The target audience for this series is the everyday Christian, who is looking to know and love God more, and these books provide - truly meeting their slogan as a book to 'read, feed and lead'. Whilst there are other books out there written for this purpose, these books are written by an array of pastors and theologians, some well known names such as Tim Keller and Tim Chester, and some lesser known, but all with a passion for the gospel and a great ability to be able to communicate the meaning and application of God's word. This series is one I highly recommend as an addition to your regular Bible reading. \\r\\n\\r\\nEphesians for you is a fantastic book, it covers the broad overarching themes of Ephesians, through the first three chapters of God's plan to unite all things in Christ and the last three in how this looks in things like marriage, households, work and church. Coekin includes a great amount of depth in his writing, provides some helpful illustrations and analogies and is theologically sound througout the book. \\r\\nI highly recommend this book for both study of Ephesians and for use in reflecting and applying God's word\\r\\n\\r\\n
