In this groundbreaking new book, which interacts witht Rob Bell's *Love Wins*, Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle take on the topic of hell and our eternal destiny, with a sense of humility and a deep respect for the inspired Word of God. They will address questions such as "Will everyone be saved?" and "Does God Get What He Wants in the End?" as well as reviewing in depth, everything Jesus said about Hell.
However, the authors warn that we have to guard ourselves against "a heartlessness" when we talk about this theology and this doctrine, because ultimately this is about people. **How could a loving God send people to hell? Will people have a chance after they die to believe in Jesus and go to heaven?**
With a humble respect for God's Word, Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle address the deepest questions you have about eternal destiny. They've asked the same questions. Like you, sometimes they just don't want to believe in hell. But as they write, "We cannot afford to be wrong on this issue."
This is not a book about who is saying what. It's a book about what God says. It's not a book about impersonal theological issues. It's a book about people who God loves. It's not a book about arguments, doctrine, or being right. It's a book about the character of God.
*Erasing Hell* will immerse you in the truth of Scripture as, together with the authors, you find not only the truth but the courage to live it out.

I love the perfect combination of authors in this book. It's like Paul and James combined. Preston is good with the depth of biblical knowledge on the topic, and explaining it in laymen terms, while Francis is good with the applications of the truth. I think the main thrust of this book is to correct universalism view, which is quite dangerous, as the destiny of people hangs on it. At the end, in the appendix, there is a Q & A on the topic of hell. Greatly recommended for anyone who wants to learn this topic.

Convicting and Challenging
Much like Crazy Love, Erasing Hell is amazing if you make it yourself. Francis Chan writes eloquently and in a convicting way but it's most effective if you pause and reflect on what is read. Really challenges the core of the heart of what is avoided frequently in the churches. Great confronting read!

A very important issue
I found this book very difficult to read, not because of the style but because of the topic. Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle do a fantastic job of giving a concise overview of what the Bible says about hell. They have done well to be as objective as possible and allow the Bible to speak for itself. The conclusions they come to are a result of examining Scripture, Jewish history and the early church and should impact us in the 21st century. They present a consistent view that hell is a terrible reality and all Christians need to understand and be motivated to save others from it. This book is readable and an excellent resource for any study on the biblical view of hell. It is concise enough for all readers to access and detailed enough to promote further studies. I consider this to an essential read.
