ESV Single Column Journaling Bible Large Print Deep Brown

This is a lovely journalling bible that is nearly perfect.

I bought online so was not able to look before buying.

The Good:

The overall look and feel is very nice and I love the deep rich colour.

The single column wide margin and large font make for a really enjoyable reading experience, and there is plenty of room for journalling.

The neutral:

I knew before buying that the paper was cream, but I wish it was a bit more off- white leaning.

A few extra pages for notes at the back would be nice, but there's plenty of YouTube tutorials on adding tip-ins (pages) so not a deal breaker.

The bad:

For a journalling bible, made to be written in, I'm a bit disappointed at how thin the pages are, and how they aren't very universally pen friendly.

I have had non-bleed highlighters bleed so bad they're as visible on the back side as much as the front.

Pens also need to be very carefully selected to alleviate show through.

I've used the weights and measures page at the back of the bible as a pen test page.

I've found 0. 03 fine liner and 0. 25/0. 3 gel pens mostly ok if used carefully. Ballpoint would probably be ok but I generally don't use them.

I'm sure I'll find workarounds for the pen/highlighter issues with a bit of trial and error.

Overall I'm happy with this bible and would recommend with the caveat of being careful what pens you use in it for journalling.
