Many 20th century evangelism strategies are no longer effective in today's post-church world. This guidebook presents field-tested methods that really work, getting past the defensive posture that people have toward Christianity so they can seriously consider the claims of Jesus Christ.
Most Christians already know that they should be telling their friends about Jesus. But they have been poorly equipped with methods that are no longer effective in today's post-Christian world. As a result, many people become frustrated, blame themselves, and simply give up. *Evangelism in a Skeptical World* is a textbook on evangelism that is ideal for the church or the classroom to equip Christians with the principles and skills they need to tell the unbelievable news about Jesus to friends in a skeptical world.
Many of the older principles and methods of evangelism in the twentieth century no longer work effectively today. In a post-Christian, post-churched, post-reached world we need new methods to communicate the timeless message of the gospel in culturally relevant ways. Dr. Chan combines the theological and biblical insights of classic evangelistic training with the latest insights from missiology on contextualization, cultural hermeneutics, and storytelling. Every chapter is illustrated with real-world examples drawn from over fifteen years of evangelistic ministry. These are methods that really work - with university students, urban workers, and high school students - getting past the defensive posture that people have toward Christianity so they can seriously consider the claims of Jesus Christ.
Field-tested and filled with unique, fresh, and creative insights, this book will equip you to share the gospel in today's world and help as many people as possible hear the good news about Jesus.

Evangelism in a Skeptical World: How to Make the Unbelievable News About Jesus More Believable$32.99
This amazing book is very well written with much perception of the various needs of the lost. Sam shows he knows what Bible storytelling is about and gives clear guidance as to how to use it effectively. The book is readable with practical ways of sharing God's Word to people of different cultures. The writer has a sensitivity to different people which I admire. Some of the suggestions are well-tabulated and so are helpful to remember. I strongly recommend this book to those who are seeking effective ways of evangelizing the skeptical.

essential reading
This book is incredibly well structured and tackles many misunderstandings in evangelism, while giving clear guidelines and/or frameworks for getting around them. It is super practical and easy to apply the information given into real life conversations. I particularly benefited from chapters on the role of God and us in evangelism, the factors that shape/form our beliefs, gospel metaphors/images and the explanation of how our postmodern world thinks.

One of the Best!
This is the BEST book on evangelism. Well this is one of the BEST books I've ever read. Period. (and I read a lot). This book is theological, biblical, and practical. Sam Chan is such a smart man. The book is very well written, articulated, and accessible. It's great to see smart people doing gospel ministry in our secular world

Practical, Insightful, Easy-to-read and Challenging book on Evangelism
This book begins by answering the question 'what' is evangelism. Why we should do it and then the next 8 chapters to how we should do evangelism. \\r\\n\\r\\nWhat I liked . . . \\r\\n- The book dealt with some big ideas in easily readable language. \\r\\n- This book was incredibly practical. \\r\\n\\r\\nThis book was an easy and practical read but challenged me to think about how I could be making more opportunities to share the gospel. \\r\\nI normally don't buy books because I generally only read them once, but this is one I'd like to buy and re-read again and again.

Very insightful
The first half of this book in particular is the most helpful material I've read on evangelism. So insightful on the gospel, the sceptical world around us, and the ways we can communicate the gospel with clarity, generosity and love
