The 'For You' series by the Good Book Company are a well needed addition to the 'commentary world'. The target audience for this series is the everyday Christian, who is looking to know and love God more, and these books provide - truly meeting their slogan as a book to 'read, feed and lead'. Whilst there are other books out there written for this purpose, these books are written by an array of pastors and theologians, some well known names such as Tim Keller and Tim Chester, and some lesser known, but all with a passion for the gospel and a great ability to be able to communicate the meaning and application of God's word. This series is one I highly recommend as an addition to your regular Bible reading. \\r\\n\\r\\nExodus for you unpacks the rich meaning of the story of the Israelites as God's poeple and their great exodus from Egypt, being freed from their slavery. Tim makes great connections and application, showing us the ways that we often share the same sinful hearts that the Israelites demonstrated, but also how we experience God's great blessing as God's people today, in recieving freedom from slavery to sin. Many of these passages are given such greater and richer meaning as we are shown how they point to the gospel, and are explained the significance in the bigger picture of God's story in His word. I can highly recommend this book.

Engaging and edifying
Chester walks the reader through the book of Exodus from start to finish, taking either a chapter or a series of chapters at a time. He explains the meaning from the text before drawing out application to the reader. As with his other writings, Exodus For You is filled with surprising, but biblical, application drawn from the biblical text. Highly recommended for personal study of Exodus and devotional reading.
