Lady Sabine is harboring a skin blemish, one, that if revealed, could cause her to be branded as a witch, put her life in danger, and damage her chances of making a good marriage. After all, what nobleman would want to marry a woman so flawed?

Sir Bennet is returning home to protect his family from an imminent attack by neighboring lords who seek repayment of debts. Without fortune or means to pay those debts, Sir Bennet realizes his only option is to make a marriage match with a wealthy noblewoman. As a man of honor, he loathes the idea of courting a woman for her money, but with time running out for his family's safety, what other choice does he have?

As Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet are thrust together under dangerous circumstances, will they both be able to learn to trust each other enough to share their deepest secrets? Or will those secrets ultimately lead to their demise?

    a fairytale romance

So, I'm a decade or so out of the teen/youth audience of this book, but I was rather surprised to find how engaged I was in the story - I just """"had to read one more chapter"""" to find out what happened to Sabine & Sir Bennet. Quite a beautiful story about inner worth and standing strong in front of the wrong opinions of others.

    Brilliant Read

This has been one of my favourite medieval romance series. This book was my favourite so far. Really anticipating the final two books.

    Captivating, Fairy-tale

Just a heads up, this book is written in first person, which took me a few chapters to get used to. However, this isn't a bad thing as I connected with the characters in a unique way. I found it refreshing to experience the story from a different perspective. Otherwise, what a sweet story! I was captivated from the beginning through the natural spunk and fire between Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet. You'll find yourselves laughing! Despite it being a short read, the character progression is beautifully written. From an arranged marriage to marrying for love, Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet discover for themselves what love signifies. Saddle up for a fairy-tale adventure, and connect with friends new and old. It's a smooth, easy read sure to find a way to your heart.

    Medieval Romance

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun to be transported back to medieval times to read the story of the last knight, introduced as a minor but well-loved character in the previous two books in the series. I loved the banter between the two main characters, often laughing out loud as they challenged each other back and forth. They had no plans whatsoever to like each other so it was fun seeing them accidentally fall in love. \\r\\n\\r\\nBut alongside the fun were a whole bunch of very serious moments where the characters were faced with challenges no one should have to - how far to go to honour a promise made, where true worth lies, what it means to love someone. It was fascinating watching their journey to discovery as they worked through each challenge. \\r\\n\\r\\nOverall, a great read.
