Imagine what it would have been like to sail the Sea of Galilee with Jesus and his disciples! People often came to hear Jesus teach by the Sea of Galilee. He would stand in the fishing boats anchored there so that he could speak to the whole crowd. One time, Jesus told Peter to row out to deep water and throw out the nets to catch fish, even though Peter had not been able to catch a single fish all day. He did what Jesus told him to do and caught so many fish that the nets began to tear. Peter and his helpers were amazed and Jesus told him that from that time on, they would fish for people and tell everyone about God's love. (Luke 5) Children can make this story come to life with our interactive Galilee Boat set. It features everything you need to help your children learn about this fascinating Tale of Glory. Set included 14 figures and boat. For Ages 3+

Good-enough product, useful for discipling children

    Pros:

    - Got a bonus disciple, presumably in case I lose one - 13 disciples + Jesus (14 figurines total)

    - Tough little guys

    Cons:

    - Boat mast broke within 5 minutes of kids playing with it

    - Figurines have trouble standing up on a flat surface - no chance of being able to stand in the boat

    - complexions are weird - all different shades including grey ones that look like corpses

    - Shame that this company doesn't produce female disciples - Mary, Mary, Martha, Joanna, Susanna, Salome, etc. This would help little girls engage with the gospels.

Since this is just about the only toy of its kind on the market, I still recommend buying it because I think we need to give our kids lots of different ways to engage with scripture, including recreating the stories. I wish there were more products like this on the market that would overcome the cons listed above, though.
