Gifted Hands, DVD

We watched this a few years ago and recently watched it again with family friends. Everybody was touched and loved it. There is so much in this movie to inspire and uplift and make us realize how God is so much bigger than us in overcoming struggles. Also that we are not immune to struggles just because we walk with God.

Dr Ben Carson's life story is so inspirational, and this movie does a fantastic job in bringing his story to action. Carson grew up in unfavourable circumstances but that didn't prevent him from becoming a neurosurgeon. He is still a man of God and his story is one that illustrates the beauty of diligence and the importance of putting God first in your life. For $10 this is a great deal

There are a few good things along the way, but if I try to summarise the message of the movie I come up with something that runs against the grain of the gospel. In in a nutshell, the movie tells you that hard work, diligence and faith can allow you to reach your dreams. \\r\\n\\r\\nI could not recommend this movie, but if you do choose to watch it I would simply suggest that you critically analyse it afterwards by asking two questions of the movie and then comparing your answers to the Bible:\\r\\n\\r\\nFirstly, what the purpose of life is according to the movie?\\r\\n\\r\\nAnd secondly, how does the movie suggest you can reach that purpose?\\r\\n
