The first chapter seems to be all about Eric's physical characteristics. The second starts with some pretty crass stories eg. It is pretty obvious what the world considers heroic manhood, James Bond style so I think it could be expressed more succinctly. There are some good suggestions in the book but you need to wade to find them.
