Do you find yourself picking through circumstances like children plucking daisy petals attempting to figure out whether or not God loves you? If you find yourself least certain of his love in those critical moments when you most need to trust him, there is hope for you. Where? At the one event in human history that forever secured your place in the Father's heart - the cross where Jesus allowed sin and shame to be consumed in his own body so that you could freely embrace a relationship with his Father. There you will discover that what he always wanted was not the fearful subservience of slaves, but the loving affection of sons and daughters.

So many Christians believe God's love is fickle. They imagine that when they sin, God turns away in disgust and anger. They vacillate between "He loves me" and "He loves me not" purely on the basis of their own behaviour. But according to Wayne Jacobsen, God's love is sturdy, enduring, and undisturbed by people's failings, because God loves humankind not for what they do but who they are. They are God's beloved creation.
Startlingly honest and empathetically written, *He Loves Me* reveals the facts of God's relentless grace. Readers will learn how to live consciously and confidently in this love all the time. Questions for personal reflection and group discussion help make these truths practical and life-changing. Insecure Christians ready for a revolutionary relationship with God will find out just how accessible that is.

This book was given as a gift to me in a challenging season of my life. It spoke of the love of Jesus in a way I had not known or understood before. Wayne Jacobson speaks out of a heart for people to truly know the love of Christ and then for that love to transform and renew the way we live.

    **a must read!**

This book deserves a 10+ star rating. \\r\\nSome see these explanations of grace as a license to sin. Unfortunately, that thought highlights the fact that the true message of grace has been missed totally. \\r\\nFor so long, we've seen our faith as works and what is required of us, and never seeing the real message. \\r\\nThis book will certainly open your eyes and make you think. \\r\\nGod offers His love and freedom to His children but we put so many regulations on it - thinking we speak for Him. \\r\\nAll we need to know is that """"He loves me"""" and we pass this love on. Don't be afraid of the grace God offers you. \\r\\nA friend gave us this book. We've been so overwhelmed at the message that we've bought 10 copies to give away to friends. It is a beautiful and life changing truth that has been lost to our legalistic tendencies.

    Excellent book

I only wrote this review because I was astounded that the other reviewer gave the book only one star! Amazon had 86 of 103 reviews giving this book 5 stars!!\\r\\nThis is a very good explanation of the Father's Love and is easy to read. \\r\\nIt brings healing and restoration. \\r\\nIt's a useful book for those like myself who fall into the performance trap. \\r\\nHow churches would be transformed if we operated not out of guilt, but by the power of the Holy Spirit in the knowledge of God's love. Hudson Taylor experienced this - he said """"the weight and strain had all gone""""!\\r\\nA friend bought this book for me and I have purchased it for others - it may change your life!

A different but not unique view of the cross

Jacobsen presents a view of the cross that is more of an example to believe and follow than an actual accomplishment of salvation from sin, by shunning the orthodox teaching of substitutionary atonement, and characterising that view in derogatory ways. Readers of this book will need to be discerning, and assess their own beliefs and that of scripture.
