**2021 Shortlisted Australian Christian Book of the Year.**
Utilising recent insights from cross-cultural ministry, communication theory, and apologetics, Sam Chan helps you build confidence in sharing your faith, and teaches you how to evangelise in socially appropriate ways.
Most Christians know they should be trying to tell their friends and family about Jesus. But in a post-Christendom world, personal evangelism is viewed negatively--it's offensive, inappropriate, and insensitive. Recent studies confirm that the majority of Christians rarely evangelize, worried they might offend their family or lose their friends. In *How to Talk About Jesus (Without Being That Guy)*, author Sam Chan equips everyday Christians who are reluctant and nervous to tell their friends about Jesus with practical, tested ways of sharing their faith in the least awkward ways possible.
Drawing from over two decades of experience as an evangelist, teacher, and pastor, Chan explains why personal evangelism feels so awkward today. And utilizing recent insights from communication theory, cross-cultural ministry, and apologetics, he helps you build confidence in sharing your faith, and teaches you how to evangelize your friends and family in socially appropriate ways.

How to Talk About Jesus: Personal Evangelism in a Skeptical World (Without Being That Guy)$26.99
Highly aware of today's issues yet super practical
This book finally gets it. The world has changed and what used to work in evangelism no longer works. The book doesn't give a one-size-fits all approach. Instead it argues for a lifestyle approach to evangelism. This is something we can all do - and if EVERYONE did this - we could have a paradigm shift in evangelism. I'm highly excited that if everyone gave this a go, then we could have a REVIVAL in this generation

Good
This book was easy to read and I got some good tips from it about how to talk about Jesus to others in a more natural, approachable way. Worth a read.

Not what I was hoping for
As a Catholic, I bought this book in a bid to learn how to evangelise more effectively. It didn't matter that the author, Sam Chan, wasn't Catholic. After all, we're all in this together in trying to pick up ideas about evangelising, right?\\nBut then I got to Page 28 where Chan described how he got his Catholic neighbours to come to his church for Christmas for the next few years instead of them attending their usual Catholic church. Hmm, I thought this book was about learning to talk about Jesus to others who don't know Him; not how to effectively get people who are already believers in another church to come across to Sam's church. That hurt reading that! I had planned on donating this book to my local Catholic parish library in order to help other Catholics evangelise, but unfortunately, I won't be doing so now.

Practical
A more compact, applicable, and story-driven than his """"Evangelism in a Skeptical World""""\\nIt is very encouraging how simple everyday Evangelism is that anyone and everyone can do it.

Thought-provoking
A book that every Christian could learn from. I found myself picking up new ideas in every chapter and realizing that I'll need to go back and write notes. \\nClear, inspiring, and thought-provoking.
