If you've been a churchgoer for more than just a few Sundays, walking into church probably doesn't seem like it deserves its own 'how to' manual. Right? In fact, it most likely seems like a pretty straightforward and trivial weekly activity. But things are rarely as simple as they seem, and...
If you've been a churchgoer for more than just a few Sundays, walking into church probably doesn't seem like it deserves its own 'how to' manual. Right? In fact, it most likely seems like a pretty straightforward and trivial weekly activity.
But things are rarely as simple as they seem, and how you walk into church reveals a great deal about what you think church is, what it's for, and what you think you're doing there.
In *How to Walk into Church*, Tony Payne helps us think biblically about church. Along with giving plenty of other practical advice, he suggests a way to walk into church that beautifully expresses what church is and why you're there - a way that every Christian can master.
If you go to church, this Brief Book is for you.
"This book is a great idea. It's wonderfully practical, helpful, and relevant. I hope we can give it away to our new members. Tony has given us a necessary reminder on the importance of walking into church with the right heart, the right head, and the right spirit." - Kevin DeYoung, Senior Pastor, University Reformed Church, East Lansing, Michigan, USA

A friend recommended 'How to walk into Church' by Tony Payne when I was feeling a bit sad about relationships at Church. I'm so glad I got over my initial reaction of 'I don't need this book' and gave it a quick read (because it is lovely and short, not because I skimmed over any bits). \\r\\nIt firstly lifted my gaze to considering what Church is and why we meet, and then gave me some really practical advice for loving my Church family. I finished the book feeling excited for Sunday to put it into practice. \\r\\nEach chapter clearly answers one question, and uses bible passages that speak to the point and are not taken out of context. I also really appreciated that the book acknowledges some of the reasons we find it difficult to walk into church, with a sensitive rebuke that I am sometimes looking for how church is satisfying my needs. \\r\\nI can't recommend this book enough, even if you walk into church every week, it is an encouraging refreshment about how to walk in well.
