The hurt is easy to see. It's all around us. Every day. Fortunately, so is the healing.
*The Hurt and the Healer* is a celebration of that moment when these two worlds collide...the deep need for healing and the God who provides it. Produced by Brown Bannister and Dan Muckula, this new album from MercyMe features their trademark anthems, engaging pop songs and moments of intimate worship.
MercyMe's last album, *The Generous Mr Lovewell*, sold over 400,000 units. Their most famous song 'I Can Only Imagine' has received over 15 million hits on YouTube. The success of the single ultimately propelled *Almost There* to being certified double platinum, representing sales of over 2 million albums, as well as the single itself being certified platinum.
The band consists of vocalist Bart Millard, keyboardist James Bryson, percussionist Robby Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran and guitarists Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul.

Bart, from MercyMe opened up about the tragedy behind the song :""""The Hurt and the Healer"""". Bart shared that his cousin was a firefighter killed in the line of duty. He explained that to fully connect with God we need to have a collision with God(the Healer) to where we are changed and we walk away closer to Christ than we were before. \\r\\n Being through my own painful situation I find this song really inspiring and challenging to always use those situations no matter how hard, to be changed by Jesus and to walk away closer to Him.

Healing for Hurt with Mercy Me's Latest Album
I have been a Mercy Me fan for a number of years; solidified when they visited Toowoomba and I heard them at Easterfest 2012. These guys have got some serious talent, evidenced both live and recorded! Musically, they are a talented bunch, particularly vocally - bang on every time!\\r\\nBut my favourite thing about Mercy Me's latest album,""""The Hurt and the Healer"""" is their lyrics. WOW - talk about soul searching. These lyrics hit home, exploring who God is comparatively to who we - His children - are. Offering hope for the hurt and an introduction to the Healer who truly changes lives - this album is worthwhile adding to any 'most played' playlist. \\r\\n
