I Believe, Therefore I Behave

An undeniable, universally accepted truth of human existence is that of belief. This concept is not only evident in religion, in relation to faith, and the things of God; it is also valid in regard to work activities both manual and intellectual. Thus, it can be asserted that the behavior of man is in accordance with what a man believes.  
From this perspective, it is then unimportant, whether a person is following error or truth. One�s behavior and conduct are generally directed by one�s beliefs, whether right or wrong. Upon reflection, changes in behavior may result: going from error to truth, from one faith to another, from a certain philosophy to another.  
Therefore, behavior and conduct do not remain unchanged throughout a person�s life. Just as ideas and convictions change, so does behavior. They are all fashioned and guided by what a person believes.  
It is our beliefs that make the difference between us, causing us as individuals to behave in certain ways. People reflect their own viewpoints in the earthly realm by their choices for work and other activities. When we think of eternity, the afterlife without end, we know that not everyone believes the same thing. We do not usually like to speak about death. It is a tragic reality of life that everyone accepts. No one can escape its dominion nor delay its coming, regardless of whether one is interested in the things of God or not.  
Therefore, it is worthwhile to live our earthly lives in such a way as to obtain eternal life. There is only one way to do so, and that is by following Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).Read less
