ICB International Children's Bible

Having purchased numerous copies of this Children's Bible for shipping overseas over past years, I regard it as an excellent Bible both for children and adults alike. In this setting the adults may be Sunday School teachers or parents of children etc but also those adults who may have English as a second language only. I love the colour illustrations included in this Bible and the added features and maps of the back pages are also very informative and helpful. As a 70 + """"senior"""" with normal average eyesight I personally find the print very clear and easy to read. The pages also are legible, durable and very user friendly. I highly recommend this Children's Bible for both children and adults alike.

The pages are so thin that it is hard to read since the text on the other side of the page is clear enough to obstruct the text. One has to stare really hard to see the text clearly and it makes my eyes/head hurt. \\nThe pages can easily tear considering it is a Bible for kids. I don't recommend it to anyone.

This translation is so helpful, not only for children, but also for people with lower literacy or English as a second language. \\r\\nFeatures I really appreciate include: \\r\\n1. Helpful little footnotes on cultural references eg. 'Is it right to heal on the Sabbath?' Has the footnote: it was against Jewish law to work on the Sabbath day. \\r\\n2. Direct Old Testament quotations in the New Testament have the Old Testament reference included in italics at the end of the quotation. \\r\\n3. Includes a dictionary at the back, but all throughout the text words in the dictionary are annotated with a 'd'. Eg prophet, Sabbath. \\r\\n4. Great set of maps in the back that have enough detail to add to understanding, but are not overwhelming. \\r\\n\\r\\nMy kids are enjoying this bible as I read it to them, but I too am enjoying this translation with some of the harder concepts really helpfully described. \\r\\nOne or two of these lose a little meaning, such as the sermon on the mount (Mathew 5) reading 'happy' instead of blessed, but overall the translational interpretations are excellent.
