This is indeed a concise and wonderfully helpful treatment of Christian theology from an evangelical perspective. I have studied it closely in previous editions, and this update is careful, clear and alert to contemporary issues. Solidly rooted in Scripture, but well aware of a wide range of Christian reflection on great doctrinal themes, Milne's sensible and balanced grasp and application of Biblical truth is a wonderful guide for growth in Christian understanding. The book is mildly Calvinist, something which the non-Calvinist reader needs to take into account, but Milne consistently models a fairness and graciousness from which Christians of all backgrounds can learn. """"Know the Truth"""" (3rd ed. ) is not wordy or rambling, and pastors, leaders, students, and indeed all disciples who hunger for truth will be regularly nourished here.

Small chapters, big ideas
This is an excellent book that explains the big ideas about the Christian faith. I first read this book together with a friend. We read one chapter a week and discussed our thoughts together over with a Friday afternoon coffee. I still go back and read parts on a regular basis, especially when I'm asked those trickier questions about the Bible. I always say """"I'm sure about that, but I know where to find out!"""".
