Life Flight (#01 in Extreme Measures Series)$24.99
I was really excited to get this book but I found it too confronting for me, I had nightmares the days that I did read it. It is certainly a griping and captivating story, just not for me.

Could Offer More
The best part of this story was the ending. The unexpected revelation that was right in front of my eyes all along. Despite my enjoyment, there was something missing - excitement, relatability, realism. I can't pin point exactly what, but it is a mixture of all those points. However, I did look forward to my free time so I could continue reading. There was a lot going on with mini plot lines. They could have been more rounded if their stories follow on in the next book.

Action Packed
It was certainly go, go, go from the beginning however for me there wasn't enough character development for the first part of the book. It was roughly the last third of the book where it started to develop more of the characters and their relationships. When Holts sister comes to the hospital to see him, that was the turning point for the better for me. The side story about Holt's sister could've played a much more prominent and drawn out story, it was very intriguing. I would've loved more of that story and the mystery and suspense it created. It was much too small a part in my opinion. I also enjoyed the journalist character and enjoyed when we got to know his character a tiny bit more. If his story continues in the next book that makes sense but if not I'm disappointed that we didn't get to know him more and see the relationship between him and the other characters develop. This thriller was a bit more intense and descriptive than a lot of other CF. I enjoyed it but people should be aware of this.

Not her best
I found the opening chapters of Life Flight an awkward combination of annoying and thrilling. \\nThrilling, because they are fast-paced and placing the characters in a life and death situation (yes, the clue is in the title). But annoying, because of the situation they'd been placed in-forced to undertake a rescue in bad weather, and without a satellite phone to communicate with. The phone issue was resolved (but even the resolution left a loose end), but it still left me wondering if these characters were competent. \\n\\nThere were also a couple of frustrations as the story progressed. For example, if a serial killer who is known to use disguises disappears into a stairwell, wouldn't it make sense to check everyone who exits the stairwell i. e. don't ignore people just because they're not dressed the same as the killer? (Yes, I wanted the good guys to win even if I wasn't convinced they deserved to. )\\n\\nI enjoyed the will-they-won't-they chase to catch the serial killer before he found his next victim . . . especially once it became obvious Penny was going to be the next victim. I liked the fact Life Flight was clearly Christian fiction. Overall, I did enjoy Life Flight, although it's definitely not her best book. \\n\\nThanks to Revell Books and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
