Luke 1-12 For You (God's Word For You Series)

Both part 1 & 2 of McKinley's 'Luke For You' should be considered as a gift for any brother and sister in Christ. I have found them both excellent for morning devotions after reading the passage of scripture allocated to each chapter first. Each chapter has a part 1 & 2 for each passage of scripture and can be easily approached in smaller parts using the subheadings in the chapters. Excellent for a great start to scripture each day and can be followed up with a good time in prayer. A great glossary or terms explained as well as McKinley's faithfulness to the Gospel in every part of the word! The entire series has been excellent thus far. High recommend.

The 'For You' series by the Good Book Company are a well needed addition to the 'commentary world'. The target audience for this series is the everyday Christian, who is looking to know and love God more, and these books provide - truly meeting their slogan as a book to 'read, feed and lead'. Whilst there are other books out there written for this purpose, these books are written by an array of pastors and theologians, some well known names such as Tim Keller and Tim Chester, and some lesser known, but all with a passion for the gospel and a great ability to be able to communicate the meaning and application of God's word. This series is one I highly recommend as an addition to your regular Bible reading. \\r\\nLuke 1-12 For You is the first book written on a gospel book in this series. Mike McKinley has a very easy-to-read writing style, and explains aspects of Luke well. In reading the book alongside the Gospel of Luke, there are a few small sections of the text were not really explored, but on the whole, there is a thorough exposition, explanation and application of Luke. \\r\\nA really fantastic book for daily Bible study or in aiding leading group discussion. Highly recommend.
