The final installment of the three-book set of world religions and cults! This final book in the series focuses on the atheistic or humanistic type of religions. It would be one of the most valuable for the church in the Western World where anti-god and pro-evolution religions are beginning to explode, for it was written to refute those religions and show how they fail. Unlike most books on world religions, this title dives into the secular humanistic religions. The book starts with God's Word as the absolute authority. In doing so, God becomes our guide to refute false religions.

a broad survey of humanistic worldviews

In this volume of World Religions and Cults, Hodge and Patterson survey worldviews that either explicitly deny the existence of God, or do not recognise God's role in the world. While it covers some (meta)religious views (atheism, agnosticism, syncretism, etc. ), some of this book looks at worldviews that are not usually thought of as religious (communism, naturalism, empiricism). This builds on the basic idea laid out in vol. 1 of this series: the only kinds of religion are God's and not God's. There is considerably less continuity in this volume than in the previous two, so readers who are interested in a particular topic can go straight to the relevant chapter. The appendices are helpful and provide a good introduction to some particular topics that might arise when engaging atheistic religions.
