NIV Thinline Bible Large Print Black Premier Collection (Black Letter Edition)

Goatskin binding on this is very nice for its price point (it's not pretending to be in the same realm as Schuyler, Cambridge or RL Allan but it is on par with Crossway's premium editions IMHO). Edge-lined construction is solid with the goatskin front and back covers being exceptionally floppy in the hand (""""Bible yoga"""" poses are easily done). Lovely perimeter stitching along with perimeter gilt line and what appears to be a leather liner inside as well. \\n\\nBlack-letter double column text. Would prefer if it was line-matched, but the 36gsm paper used is relatively opaque with little bleed-through of text from the other side of the page. As usual 2K Denmark's NIV Comfort Print text is right up there with readability of other typefaces (2K Denmark Bible Sans/Serif/Slab and Lexicon). This is a bare bones thinline, excellent for reading with no cross references (only translator footnotes) and no other helps like a concordance/dictionary or maps. The art-gilding is done very well for a Chinese made Bible with three substantial satin ribbons (in varying blue shades to complement the blue dye under the silver gilding) completing the package. \\n\\nFor its price, it's excellent. If you are able to get a copy when it's on sale, you have an amazing edition of Scripture that you can use for a very long time and pass down to the kids.

This NIV Premier Thinline is a great option if you're looking for a premium quality bible for reading and carrying. The goatskin leather is very supple, it feels like butter in your hands when you hold it. The 36 gsm paper is the right amount of thickness and the 11. 4 font size and the Comfort Print the perfect combination for those who want a very readable Bible. Another great feature of this Bible is that it also has three thick blue ribbons of different shades. They are not flimsy like the ribbons found in other Bible and adds a very nice touch to the overall aesthetic look of this Bible. Also, since this is a premium bible, you can expect to use it for years to come. So the price point of this Bible is justified because it would be a great investment.
