Magnificent
By providence, Piper means not only that God is sovereign, but that this sovereignty is directed towards a purpose, namely the glorification of his name for the enjoyment of his people through Christ. Piper’s examination of these biblical theme is comprehensive and eye-opening.

Thorough and Well Treated
Piper gives a great treatment on the doctrine of Providence. It is a long read, but clearly a lot of thought and prayer has gone into its writing. Definitely a worthwhile read.

Exhaustive yet Readable
Piper never leaves a stone unturned and this is so true of this volume. That being said, it is a very readable articulation of some very significant topics. Add it to the reading list to work through slowly.

Magnum Opus
Piper's magnum opus. Piper is still my most read author. So it's only natural I read his latest one. This is a big book on God's providence. It asks the age-old question: how is God of the bible involved in and through the reality of His creation? Piper defines providence as """"God's act of purposefully providing for, or sustaining and governing, the world. """" I like that definition. The book is basically a biblical theology on providence. Piper surveys the whole bible to explains what providence is, how it works, its ultimate goal, and the nature and extent of providence. Piper also answers some practical questions like government, human's will, deception, forgiveness, etc. As mentioned, this is a big book. So it is hard to recommend. But it is a satisfying read on one of the biggest topics in the bible.
