This story is set in the sixties – an interesting time of great social change. Claire and Viv draw us into their lives in this significant time of history.
I found the rural countryside setting and description of Viv’s home and family exquisite – it breathes fragrance and beauty. This novel provides a sense of place that draws the reader into the girls’ world.
I got to know Claire and Viv throughout their uni years of socialising and renting a home together. They both hope for husbands. Their friendship blossoms quickly and Viv asks Claire for frequent getaways to her Kenilworth property home.
Issues are threaded throughout this story. Some challenging, some thought-provoking. A beautiful story infused with real-life dramas. Thankyou, Jeanette.
