D. A. Carson, one of today's most notable Bible scholars, introduces the irony, scandal, and greatness of the work done on the cross.??How are Christians to approach the central gospel teachings concerning the death and resurrection of Jesus? The Bible firmly establishes the historicity of these events and doesn't leave their meanings ambiguous or open to interpretation. Even so, there is an irony and surprising strangeness to the cross. Carson shows that this strange irony has deep implications for our lives as he examines the history and theology of Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection.***??Scandalous*** is the latest addition to the Re:Lit series, which highlights important theological truths in accessible and applicable ways. Both amateur theologians and general readers will appreciate how Carson deftly preserves weighty theology while simultaneously noting the broader themes of Jesus' death and resurrection. Through exposition of five primary passages of Scripture, Carson helps us to more fully understand and appreciate the scandal of the cross.?

    Wonderfully Written

This is such an excellent book that keeps you enthralled from beginning to end. For a new believer it explains the gospel so clearly and powerfully, and, for anyone who already thinks they know it all, it never stops amazing you as you read and contemplate the absolute wonder of it all. The wonder at the Person of Christ, and, the theology of what it all means- Don Carson has captured so well. \\nStrongly recommend for everyone. \\n

    A very solid book

An excellent book overall. Font size and line spacing help readers to read comfortably. This book invites me to ponder about some familiar verses, and it serves its purposes well. Don Carson's writing in this book suits general readers like me. I am impressed with the excellent combination between the exposition, reflection, and helpful analogies inside. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to get a more profound meaning of the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ. For me, I also like the hymns presented at the end of every chapter. It's kind of an invitation to let the truth penetrates into my heart deeper.

Try read this book and not care. . . that's impossible. \\r\\nTHEOLOGY: 5 out of 5\\r\\nWRITING: 5 out of 5\\r\\nIMPACT: 5 out of 5\\r\\n\\r\\nMy only question is why has no one already reviewed it, and why is it not on Koorongs top 10 - Obviously we (the customers) need to get better at reading better books. I cannot believe this brilliant book is so well hidden. Leave the shack and enter the castle. . . then have a good look at our real Jesus. WOW WOW WOW!!!
