    More Suspense

This was another fantastic book by Dani Pettrey. As soon as I """"met"""" Landon and Piper in Book 1, I knew I was going to love their story. Firstly because it includes one of my all-time favourite tropes, best-friends-sibling. And secondly because of the twists and turns in the suspense side of things. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

    Inviting

I had no idea that I would enjoy it as much as I did. Pettrey made the story flow beautifully and the characters came to life. They way Pettrey has written shattered is so inviting, I was hooked from the beginning. She wasted no time with fancy informative details and went straight into the heart of the novel. After reading the first two chapters, Pettrey had the whole story mapped out, hinting where the investigation was headed and Reef's definite prosecution. However the novel is so rich with twists and complications that this possibility was never really available. I had no idea a novel was able to include so many, but Pettrey made them seem so natural it only made sense. In her previous novel Submerged, Pettrey made it clear that Piper and Landon's feelings for each other ran deep. No secret there. I love it how their broken relationship began where it ended - at Cole and Bailey's engagement party. The tension seemed so real that it was clear they belonged together. Their arguments are best described as the one someone would describe as """"If my wife and I fought like that, we'd still be together"""". It was so obvious that strangers even picked it up. The arguments made their relationship advance and flow naturally.

Romantic suspense against an Alaskan backdrop

In the second of the Alaskan Courage series, Reef McKenna returns to his hometown of Yancey for a snowboarding competition after many years away. However, his family reunion is cut short when he is arrested for the murder of fellow competitor Karli Davis. Although Reef has been in trouble before, his sister Pippa is convinced of his innocence and sets out to find the real killer. Meanwhile, hunky Deputy Landon Grainger is torturing himself over the fact that Pippa will never love him the way he loves her. Or will she?? As they delve more into Karli's past, more than one likely suspect pops up. But will Pippa and Landon declare their true feelings for each other and find the real killer before he or she silences them forever?\\n\\nI really liked this book. The mystery has lots of complications and there's a deeper story underneath of faith and second chances. I really liked Pippa's spunk (and I don't just mean Landon!). Though I do get a bit annoyed when two people are obviously nuts about each other, but assume the other isn't interested. Like the first book, there are also a few too many passages where we're told the character's thoughts. \\n\\nBut it's an enjoyable read, a good mystery, an exotic location, and a nice romance. I'll be reading the other books in the series.

Another great instalment in the Alaskan Courage Series

Author Dani Pettrey doesn't disappoint in her second instalment in the Alaskan Courage Series. \\r\\nOnce again the audience is re-introduced to the McKenna family in all their warmth, charm and deep family bonds. A new mystery unfolds as the family scramble to find the real killer in a case where their youngest brother is the prime suspect for and to clear his name. The dynamic of the relationship between Landon and Piper goes to new heights as their chemistry and feelings for each other grow stronger. Overall a fantastic romantic suspense novel.

    Captivating!

Accidentally read this book first instead of the first book in the series, but it was so well written that it didnt matter! The story line kept you hooked and wanting to read on even after the book had ended. Piper's stubbornness to help her brother shows what real sibling love should be like and how family is the most important thing in our lives.
