This was an edifying read as we see the heart of Spurgeon and what drives his life. It's fast-paced since it gets right into Spurgeon's theology (not a biography), but even so, the reader does get to know him at a spiritual level, which is the innermost of one's being. \\nThis book highlights why Spurgeon is so helpful and well-loved. He was faithful and true to the word of God with a strong emphasis on Christ and his cross while also exhibiting Christlikeness in terms of his compassion and love for life and people.
