Supernatural Childbirth

At 24 wks pregnant with my 2nd child (who has just turned 27) I started bleeding heavily. I was told my placenta was lifting from my uterus, and the doctors were preparing us for a premmy baby and early delivery. I got a hold of Jackie Mize's book supernatural childbirth and started applying the scriptures and praying over my body and unborn child every evening. This became a daily ritual before bedtime. I had many bleeds throughout the pregnancy and was pretty much bed ridden to reduce the risk of early delivery. I know 100% that those declarations kept my baby in utero until due date, as on due date, I prayed "ok Lord, baby can come now" I crawled into bed and my waters broke! My beautiful healthy baby girl was born 3 and a half hours later. You cannot convince me, prayer and God's word has no effect.

I was excited to read this book when I was given it before the birth of my second baby, but afterwards was concerned about the basic premise that is based on unsound use of scripture. The book promises that your birth will be a positive experience as long as you put into practice what it teaches & have enough faith in God. The flip side of this teaching is that if you have a traumatic or difficult birth experience (or experience pain) then you either didn't have enough faith or didn't use the techniques that produce faith. I am concerned about the way the author has used scripture to claim a woman can have a perfectly pain free, trauma free childbirth. A woman with previous difficult births or women who may have difficult births in the future may blame themselves for their birth experience due to their """"lack of faith"""", a damaging mental space for a woman to be in post birth. The author also claims that the work of Christ on the cross reverses the curse of pain in childbirth. The scriptures reveal the work of Christ on the cross reverses the curse of sin through the forgiveness of sin but does not promise us freedom from pain in childbirth or suffering in this life. God promises to work all things together for good for those that love him & are called according to his purposes, regardless of experience and outcome. Id love to see more books encouraging women to trust in God for their pregnancies and births but from a more careful use and application of scripture.

This is, in my opinion, the most wonderful book ever written. I have had my two children using these promises of God and they have been my greatest testimonies. This book teaches that you can have your baby, quick and without any pain! Thats amazing! And it was how God designed it in the first place! The promises and truths in this book allowed me to have both my babies, quickly and without any drugs because I felt no pain. \\r\\nI recommend this book for ANY woman wanting to concieve a baby, or is pregnant. If used the way it teaches you to, you will experience pregnancy and childbirth, the way it was supposed to be and not the way the world has branded it! Do yourself a favour and get a copy!!
