The Babushka Tree

This beautifully imagined sweet folk style tale was a gentle pleasure to read. The characters are delightful and the bonds between them filled with warmth. It was refreshing to be immersed in a simpler time and witness this story of generosity, faith, hope and forgiveness unfold.

The inclusion of a Biblical Reflection Journal is a bonus which allows the reader to ponder the books themes and characters from a biblical and personal perspective.

I recommend this to readers of all ages.

Recently I was unexpectedly gifted this book from a friend.

I found it a well written, quick & engaging read, well suited to be co-read with someone younger.

It’s theme’s bring up good discussion on real life issues, doesn’t trivialise them but deals with them sympathetically exploring topics like gifting, loss, remorse, grace & forgiveness. I have already passed this batten to another younger reader to enjoy.

At first sight the warm, welcoming front cover invites you into an enchanting world of real challenges and thought provoking story lines. It is a book to share with family, friends and my teenage girls’ group.

The reflections and questions for each chapter add another dimension to this book and extend its influence.

Certainly recommend it highly.
