> “As parents, we want to teach our children about the Bible, but sometimes it’s intimidating to know where or how to begin. Kevin DeYoung’s new book *The Biggest Story Bible Storybook* is a wonderful way to introduce children to individual stories of the Bible while helping them grasp the main storyline of Scripture. It’s beautifully illustrated, fun to read, and will help parents teach big truths to young hearts.”
> — *Melissa B. Kruger, author; Vice President of Discipleship Programming, The Gospel Coalition*

> “Magnificent. With typical clarity and verve, Kevin DeYoung captures the wonder of the greatest story ever told. My children are going to have a hard time reading it, though, because their dad will keep stealing it to read himself.”
> — *Matt Smethurst, Planting Pastor, River City Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia; Managing Editor, The Gospel Coalition; author, Deacons and Before You Open Your Bible*

> “Through rich, understandable narratives and striking illustrations, *The Biggest Story Bible Storybook* captures children with something even more beautiful than this book—the story of redemption. > “The Bible tells a big story that may seem overwhelming for children. A parent or teacher like me might be tempted to tame lessons to familiar narratives and morals. In *The Biggest Story Bible Storybook*, Kevin DeYoung helps us to see that Scripture can be generously fed to children. The big story of Scripture is not too big for kids! DeYoung offers 104 spectacularly illustrated chapters that stretch from Genesis to Revelation. The book shines for its ability to transform meaty theological concepts into digestible milk children can recognize and enjoy. My children were eager to listen, laugh, and learn Bible stories that fit together to point us to Jesus!”
> — *Nana Dolce, author, The Seed of the Woman: 30 Narratives That Point to Jesus*

> “Kevin DeYoung keeps our attention. This is high praise for a family of four boys ages five to fifteen. We love how he tells well-known stories in new yet faithful ways. The rare gems of this book, however, are the lesser-known stories. DeYoung does not skip the smaller stories in the Bible but carefully places each in the bigger story of God’s salvation. I am thankful for this addition to our picture Bible collection!”

The Biggest Story is Even Bigger!

Kevin DeYoung's The Biggest Story is our favourite Bible overview-type kids story. Now in the Biggest Story Story Bible, De Young and Don Clark team up again to tell the familiar (and some unfamiliar) Bible stories. The difference is that each of these interestingly illustrated stories are all told with an eye on Jesus, who is the point of the Biggest Story.

It's a great Sunday School resource as well as a great gift for kids.

    Family Bible read

I bought this for my girls who were 7 & 9 at the time. We read one story each night. I think this has been a great find. It provides a summary of some of the most popular bible stories. I read aloud and they ask questions and I also check in along the way to ensure they are understanding. Like another review, I agree, the author does utilise some sarcasm at times, but I think this was fine for my kids and I think made it more enjoyable. I don't think kids younger than 7 or 8 would quite get some of the humour or sarcastic commentary so it would be important to read with then and explain. We just finished reading it one time through and have decided to read again before moving onto another version.

    Not my style.

I have been trying to use the shorter version of this book for Sunday School kids around 6 years old. Apparently it is for ages 5 to 11. I am not sure that the kids are relating flat figures with blue and green skin to reality. Since plenty of people will try to convince them that the Bible is full of myths . . . isn't it important to get across that these events really happened? I found the script confusing especially for little kids who think literally eg. """"Everything fell apart after sin entered the world. """"Huh? The writing style seems more suited to teenagers who understand hyperbole and sarcasm. """"he (Noah) could be just as foul as everybody else"""" . . . what? I guess this book appeals to some people but I am looking elsewhere for realistic illustrations and more Biblical storylines (less opinion-based commentary).
