Now a Hallmark Channel movie event, *The Bridge*, along with prequel *The Beginning*, is a heartwarming story of two couples who find love in a bookstore and experience the sort of miracle that can only happen at Christmastime.
#1 *New York Times* bestselling author Karen Kingsbury has written a modern-day classic with this unforgettable love story set against the struggle of the American bookstore. Molly Allen lives alone in Portland, but she left her heart back in Tennessee when she walked away from Ryan five years ago. They had a rare sort of love she hasn't found since.
Ryan Kelly lives in Nashville after a broken engagement and several years on the road touring with a country music duo. Sometimes when he's lonely, he visits The Bridge-the oldest bookstore in historic downtown Franklin-and remembers the hours he and Molly once spent there.
For over four decades, Charlie and Donna Barton have run The Bridge, providing customers with coffee, conversation, and shelves of classics-even through dismal sales and the rise of digital books. Then the hundred-year flood sweeps through Franklin and destroys everything. The bank is about to pull the store's lease when tragedy strikes. Can two generations of readers rally together to save The Bridge? And is it possible that an unforgettable love might lead to the miracle of a second chance?

This would have been the perfect book to read around Thanksgiving/Christmas time, but unfortunately for me - it was April!\\n\\nHaving said that, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, despite it being set in a different time of year. This was a pretty simple book, with an almost predictable ending, however i still found the book very interesting and it kept me going to the end. \\n\\nWhat I loved about this book was the message it conveyed: Despite everything that was thrown at Charlie Barton, mostly things outside of his control, God still turned everything around for his glory. Not only did he turn the situation around for Charlie, but through the circumstances that Charlie faced, it brought others home to where they were meant to be. God's purposes are never single faceted and his timing is perfect!\\n\\nAnother thing I enjoyed about this book was that it was a relatively short story - I was able to read it in a day which was a bonus. So if you're looking for a good holiday story, this is definitely one to pick up!

A great story
One of Karen Kingsbury's best stories. The characters are likeable, story unpredictable and romance adorable. I highly recommend it.

Heart Warming Love!
My 1st Karen Kingsbury book I read, I was inspired to read this novel by all the positive reviews and so I borrowed this book and I wasn't disappointed. I was very impressed with the text and the flow of the story and now I have another favourite Christian author. A beautiful book about hope, love, forgiveness, second chances and so much more! It's a story about how God gives us second chances, God can do anything he is in control and nothing is impossible for Him! A powerful love story about Molly and Ryan their forbidden love, friendship and their loyalty! I loved this book and it only took me a day to read it I couldn't put it down. A must read and I would read it again.

So Good
It doesn't get better than this - heartwarming characters I felt like I knew; an inspirational story full of life lessons about trusting God, forgiveness and second chances; a community drawn together by love, respect, memories and books; and, to top it off, a Christmas miracle. Then, of course, there is Karen Kingsbury's readable style, which made me feel like I was there, part of the tragedy, experiencing the triumph, sharing all the highs and lows of emotion in between. I recommend you read it, but read it on a day when you can just sit and read all day, and finish it tomorrow - I didn't want to put it down.
