Wonderful edition - Lots of context

This edition gives the reader a greater context of God's Word. It shows how both the Old Testament and New Testament are ONE. The connection to Hebrew is amazing and gives us the real context.

I received this as a birthday present and will definitely give it to another brethren on a special occasion.

    AMAZING!

This Bible has a lot of direct Hebrew wording and a great guide at the back of the bible, with some deep studies through out. I really like reading this version!

Interesting """"translation"""" with many Hebraisms retained, study note offer a refreshing perspective for many Christians

All Christians should have a copy of this in their library, even if you don't necessarily agree with all of what Messianic Jews believe in. The translation/version of the Scriptures may take some getting used to with many Hebraic terms used by David Stern. As for the study notes (edited by one of the Messianic Jewish community's respected rabbis, Rabbi Barry Rubin), this will give many Christians a very different perspective on many passages of the Tanakh and the Brit Chadashah (the New Testament). If the translation/version of the Scripture used in this study bible seems to be a little too much for you, I'd also try to track down a copy of the Tree of Life Version (that Koorong used to stock, published by Baker Books) to use alongside the study notes. Hendrickson Publishing have invested substantially in making sure this is a well laid out study bible (in colour too!) with quality bindings from the cheapest hardback all the way through to the supple calfskin versions at the top end price wise.

    Messianic Dream Bible

I bought this for my mother, who owns this same Bible in soft-cover non-study version. . . And it's completely fallen apart after over a decade of heavy use. To begin with, the hardcover binding is fantastic, you won't run any risk of this losing its cover and introduction passages. Aesthetically speaking, the illustration designs (particularly the introduction to the book) are beautifully rich and exemplify the Judaic beginnings of our Holy Word. It's single column with a lot of text-based footnotes and further extrapolations, entirely from a Jewish-Messianic perspective. I do suggest using audio studies along with it, or having a background knowledge in Hebrew names-language pronunciations, as the switch from English back into Hebrew can be difficult for the English tongue (Yochanan instead of John. ) The study notes author knows what they're talking about, and offers a plethora of history-rich explanations that puts 'the Jewish' back into our Messiah.

    A Must Have Study Bible

This study Bible is a great resource to have in one's library. The study notes, articles, book introductions, etc, which are all written from a Jewish perspective, and the original Hebrew names for people, places, concepts, help the non-Jewish Christians to appreciate the Jewishness and Jewish roots of the Scriptures. One will never read the Scriptures the same way once its Jewishness is appreciated and understood.
