    An unexpected delight

This historical romance novel is set just before US war for independence. Juliet is a principled daughter of a plantation owner who has seen better times. Leith is a rich business man from Scotland. Their worlds and views collide to make an interesting tale. I liked some of the side characters and smaller details that moved everything forward. There are prayers peppered throughout, themes of slavery, belonging and regret are present. The end was a bit unexpected and quick. I would have liked another chapter or two (or a sequel!)
