Drew Carter struggles to understand the escalating battle between the powerful warrior forces that only he can see. When he is offered an opportunity to redeem his misunderstood past by becoming an agent in the CIA, he jumps on it and Validus, the angel protecting Drew, and his hand-picked team of heavenly host find themselves facing impossible odds in their sworn duty.

As the battle in the spiritual realm intensifies, so does Drew's fight to unveil a horrific plot that could destroy the United States. Validus and his men find themselves in a race against time and against the devious plots of his ancient friend-turned-nemesis, Niturni, a powerful demon of cunning skill. As Validus wrestles for the soul of Drew Carter, he finds hope in Sydney Carlyle and her unflinching, steadfast testimony in Drew's life. She seems to be the only one that can reach him, but will it be too late to save the man--and the nation?

**To Fight What Others Can't You Must See What Others Don't**

After an accident left him temporarily blind, Drew Carter didn't just regain his sight. He now sees what others can't imagine-an entire spiritual realm of mighty beings at war.

Forget the gift, Drew just wants his life back. Part of that involves Sydney Carlyle, a woman he is inexplicably drawn to. When he's offered the chance to become a CIA agent, it seems the way to redeem his past. The only problem-his visions of the supernatural realm are increasing in frequency.

It's up to the warrior angel Validus and his hand-picked team of heavenly agents to protect the unbelieving Drew. Validus now knows that the young man is at the epicenter of a global spiritual war, and the angels must use a millennia of battle experience keep Drew alive, for the Fallen want him dead.

Surrounded by spiritual warriors and targeted by demons, Drew's faced with an impossible decision that will forever alter the destiny of America...and his own soul.

    Hard to put down

It's not often we find a series that can be just as captivating the whole series through, not at all losing momentum. Wars of the Realm is just this. \\r\\nThe light of the last combines contemporary characters with supernatural situations, shedding some light into what the author imagines might be going on in the spiritual realm while humans face their daily battles and triumphs. \\r\\nWritten for teensyoung adults, but I'm in my 30's and could hardly put it down! I did think it would be a little too mature for my children, aged 13 and under (who loved Chuck Black's other two series).
