    A captivating story

I listened to RC Sproul reading this book via the Renewing Your Mind podcast, and wanted to buy the book. It's a beautiful allegory of the story of God and His people, told through the tale of the ""Lightlings"". This edition is a beautiful gift, gorgeous illustrations and a message that will resonate.

In Him there is no darkness at all. . .

This story begins with a boy who fears the dark. When he asks his grandfather the following day, he doesn't get the answer he quite hoped for- some people are in fact scared of the light. His grandpa begins the story of the King of Light who made all things and made people to shine just like he does (the lightlings), and yet after a time they decided they wanted to disobey the King (sin). So they had to leave the garden and no longer be with the King of Light. They lived in darkness and were scared of the King, for fear he would punish them for their sins. But one day they saw a light far off in the distance and some curious lightling children wanted to investigate. Who they found was the Son of the King of Light, who was to be called the Light of the World. """"There would be no darkness strong enough to hide His light, no darkness deep enough to send His light away. """" They began to worship Him (Christ). The story concludes with grandpa explaining what it will be like to be with Christ one day, and why we need not fear the light or the darkness. All who come to Him will never be in darkness again. The end of the book contains 13 questions with scriptural references for parents to delve into the deeper meaning of the story with older children. This book contains large, easy-to-read font, beautiful engaging illustrations, and good quality paper. Looks like it will last a long time
