The Negotiator (#01 in O'Malley Series)

I am in the middle of this book and have just ordered the rest in the series. The book is intriguing and keeps the pace and attention of the reader. I love the characters and how they are developing. I am so excited to read what's going to happen next that all my spare time is reading the book. I want to read it all in one go if I could. This is my first novel of this type and am truly enjoying every minute. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to delve in, a bit of action and suspense and a dash of romance. It is well written and I can't wait to finish it. 5 stars!

There is something really special about this series. I have just started reading through them a second time and I am completely drawn in - I am all in. When I am not reading I think about the story and the characters, what's going to happen next? The story behind the O'Malley's is beautiful - how they are always there for each other. Yes, there are another 6 books to read; however, there are threads within this book that give a little insight into the others. Kate has spunk and I love it! Independent and composed, yet vulnerable and guarded - the perfect match for Dave (Danger in the Shadows). Their relationship progressed so naturally. I really appreciated the logical way Kate thought about Christianity and then came to believe, that it wasn't a rushed process or just a slide in feature. It becomes an important thread to the series, especially one sister's influence: Jennifer. The romance was also great, completely heart-warming. There is such depth in story telling, Dee Henderson brings every aspect to life. The suspense is really well written - layer upon layer deepened the complexity of the situation. Not knowing who it was until the end built the suspense. Love this book! Quality storytelling!

Action, faith, love, family - this book has it all. The intrigue and action is gripping (as Dee Henderson is so famous for) but it's the family aspect of it which pulled me in and held me there. I love this O'Malley family and the way they're there for each other no matter what. The characters and storyline are so well developed - one of those books which is almost impossible to put down. But beyond all that, I loved the journey the main character took to finding God. That she didn't just turn around and accept him but really struggled her way through the logic of it all. Would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense, family and a beautiful romance.
