A Page-Turning Storybook of Theology for Kids

In the cellar of the old stone cathedral, Carla and Timothy uncover a life-changing treasure, a carefully wrapped ancient book known as *The Ology*. What adults might describe as a beautifully illustrated storybook of systematic theology, the kids discover to be a story of adventure, mystery, and wonder that leads them to the truth about God, themselves, and the world around them.

Truth is for kids, not just for adults! So *The Ology* gives kids of all ages a beginner's theology book to help them understand who God is and how we, as his children, relate to him. Arranged within a traditional systematic theological framework, each truth in *The Ology* is also connected to the larger redemptive story of Scripture. The doctrine of God, for example, is presented in the larger framework of creation, where the attributes of God are on display and easier to understand. Designed for six-year-olds through preteens, this flexible resource includes built-in adaptations for use with younger or older children, so that entire families can enjoy it together.

"Few tasks are of greater importance than the discipling of children. Christian parents and Sunday school teachers, committed to biblical fidelity, cannot neglect the tremendous task of teaching children the great truths of Scripture. Marty Machowski's The Ology: Ancient Truths Ever New is a wonderful new book that will equip parents for the task of discipleship and also help children immerse themselves in the Christian worldview." - R. Albert Mohle, Jr., President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary

*The Ology* by best-selling children's author Marty Machowski is a stunningly illustrated beginner's theology book to help kids of all ages understand who God is and how we, as his children, relate to him.

Arranged within a traditional systematic theological framework, each truth in *The Ology* is also connected to the larger redemptive story of Scripture. This storybook of systematic theology takes abstract concepts in the Bible and makes them easier to understand with the use of creative examples, illustrations, and analogies.

*The Ology* is a starting point to learning theology and aims to create a hunger and desire in children to learn more as they grow older. Designed for six-year-olds through preteens, this flexible resource includes built-in adaptations so the entire families can enjoy it together.

The story begins in the cellar of the old stone cathedral, where Carla and Timothy uncover a life-changing treasure: a carefully wrapped, ancient book known as *The Ology*. Young readers will discover a tale of adventure, mystery, and wonder, which will lead them to the truth about God, themselves, and the world around them.

As a father to six children, Machowski knows how to intentionally create a vivid resource, full of analogies and word pictures to help kids grasp difficult theological concepts. Read *The Ology* to preschoolers; read it with grade-school kids, and let older kids discover the hidden truths by reading the corresponding Scripture passages for each section.

However you read it, *The Ology* will give your children a gift that will last a lifetime--a solid foundation of transformative biblical truth that will point them to the God who loves them and gave himself for them.

There is also a companion album to *The Ology* by Sovereign Grace Music that celebrates these wonderful theological truths through worship music that the whole family can enjoy.

An incredibly valuable book to have for your kids!

This book was lent to us and even before we had finished reading it, we knew this would be a firm family favourite and well used resource! We bought our own copy. It teaches children ages 5+ core biblical doctrine in a way that is engaging without loosing any truth, each centered around the gospel of Christ Jesus. It covers theology on God, people, sin, the promise and the law, Christ, the Holy Spirit, adoption into God's family, change, the church, end times and lastly theology of God's word. There are 71 in total, some 1 page long, others 2 pages. So for example bible truth no 24 is """"God's holiness cannot be in the same place as sin"""" which covers 2 pages worth of explanation and verses to support and look up. The entire book is 257 pages in length. \\n\\nWe read this alongside the bible. Each page is filled with scripture to look up after you've read the explanation of the biblical truth- something that has helped my kids learn how to read the books of the bible and begin to navigate the bible. They just love it! At the end of the book it contains important biblical words kids should know and understand, and then includes a question and answer section to dig deeper into each truth. I highly recommend this book to all families who want to expose their kids to these deep truths!

A great way to cover theology with kids

This large book covers a huge range of theological ideas about God, sin, man, etc. all worded in a way that these big concepts can be comprehended by children. There are lots of extra bible verses to look up with each topic and a clear explanation given about it. The book has a story to it, with two children finding an old book full of ancient truths. The pictures are light colour pencil drawings and I enjoy them, but they may not be vibrant and eye catching enough to appeal to some children. A great resource for family bible reading time, recommend for ages 5 and up. This book matches the size of the gospel story bible, radical book for kids and wonderfull, which I appreciate on my bookshelf!
