A fairy-tale journey of intrigue and romance that reimagines the classic Pied Piper story. A plague of rats. A giant beast outside the village walls. A host of missing children. And one young woman determined to save her people. In 1424 Hamlin, Katerina faces threats from all sides. An outbreak of rats has overtaken the village, a mysterious beast is on a killing rampage of the village's children, and Katerina's evil stepfather is a dark presence inside the walls of her own home.

Katerina is determined to hunt and kill the Beast of Hamlin herself before more lives are lost. When Steffan, the handsome but brash duke's son, comes to town seeking glory and reward, Katerina decides he might be the ally she's been looking for-even though the only gentle thing about him seems to be the sweet music he plays on his pipe. But there's more to Steffan than she suspects, and she finds herself drawn to him despite her misgivings. Together Katerina and Steffan must stop the enemy from stealing the children of Hamlin. But their interference might create an even worse fate for the entire village.

"The Piper's Pursuit is a lovely tale of adventure, romance, and redemption. Kat and Steffan's righteous quest will have you rooting them on until the very satisfying end!" - LORIE LANGDON, author of Olivia Twist and the DOON series.

    Great Girl Power read!

Not an obvious fairytale story this time, but another great instalment that fits in with Dickerson's other tales. This story follows the black sheep of the family Stephan, can he redeem himself after betraying his brother? The storyline is quite unexpected and without giving too much away, I love that a strong female character is the victor in this one and that she's given the reward that she deserves.

i liked it but DIDNT love it. . .

i would love to give this book a better review, but i want to give a honest review, so here we are :(\\nit was ok, however i felt like the book didn't have as many twists and the plot became quite uneventful. the location didn't really change throughout most of the book, meaning less characters were involved in the story. i still recommend this book because melanie dickerson is awesome and her books are always amazing, but i feel like the storyline was a bit. . . meh. i also feel like God could have been brought into the story more, but it's just my opinion. \\nas a part of the series, it did add a bit of context to where stephan (the 'disobedient' gerstenburg son) ended up and his love story. therefore i DO still think you should get it and read it, just don't keep your expectations too high. \\nps: please don't let my review stop you from reading this book. honestly i was just a little disappointed because i am used to amazing, addictive books from melanie and my standards are VERY high. just sit back, grab a cup of tea/coffee and enjoy the book :)

    Fairy Tale Bliss

The Piper's Pursuit by Melanie Dickerson is sure to leave you satisfied. Love the setting, love the storyline, love the characters; love just about everything of this book, except that it ended :-(\\nThis is the 10th book in the Hagenheim Series, but honestly it reads just fine as a standalone novel. Melanie takes us to 15th century Germany where not all is as it seems in the small village of Hamlin. The town is infested with rats, children are disappearing, and everyone is fearful of the Beast that haunts the forest and kills anyone who leaves the town walls. We meet Katarina, the wealthy step daughter of the Mayor of Hamlin. Katerina loves her people and will stop at nothing to see that the Beast be killed and the children be found and returned to their homes. Then comes along Stefan, the dukes son. Stefan carries with him a load of guilt and shame for his past mistakes. Hearing of the plight in Hamlin, he decides to go and help the town so he can """"redeem"""" himself in the sight of his father whom he hasn't seen in over a year. \\nWill these two people, so at odds with each other, be able to resolve their differences, trust one another, and work together to help the people of Hamlin?

    Exceeded my expectations!

I loved this book and really enjoyed reading it. Initially, I was a little confused since this book is based off the story of the pied piper and I wasn't sure how the author would turn that fairytale into a romance novel but it was actually super good. The plot was unexpected, the romance was adorable and the end was satisfying! 10/10! I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good romantic fairytale. Even if you are sceptical like I originally was, I think you should definitely try it out. I doubt that this book will disappoint!

    Beautifully told story

I was a little uncertain going into this book because of the fact that it's based off the Pied Piper story - one I've never really liked but, of course, I shouldn't have been. It was just as amazing as the rest of the series, immediately pulling me into the characters' lives and plights in their medieval world. I loved Kat and Steffan's relationship but also the way the author drew out their individual stories and the way they grew as people through throughout the book. Loved it the first time and already can't wait to read it again.
