The Song of Sourwood Mountain is a story that immediately had me loving the kaleidoscope of characters that paraded across the pages and settled right into my heart. Reminiscent of Catherine Marshall’s Christy, this story really brought the mountain culture of early-twentieth-century rural Kentucky to life for me. I couldn’t get enough of it! I couldn’t stop reading, as enamored with this book as I was, and am only sad that it couldn’t be even longer so that I could enjoy more of these characters’ lives and spend more time with them!
Gordon, Mina and Ada June had me tangled up around all of their fingers and hoping that they could all have the desires of their hearts and the happiness and love that they each so desperately craved! Author Ann H. Gabhart has penned an absolute keeper with this novel! It was my first by her, but it most certainly will not be my last!
