Towards Belief (2 Dvds) (Includes Discussion Guide)

I purchased this series with the hope it would help me learn more about the topics covered so that I could be equipped to be of more use when talking to non Christians in particular. I was not disappointed! I'm a long time Believer who is always wanting to learn more and grow in depth of understanding. As I worked my way through the 30 minute episodes, some were encouraging even though I knew a lot about the subject already, but others helped bring missing links together for a """"wow"""" revelation. Today's people and youth in particular are of a different mindset to my generation (60) and they did not grow up with the basics of Christianity. I therefore found these intelligent people with real life experience understand human life and Christianity as clearly being in sync rather than poles apart, which helped me see as well. I was greatly encouraged and educated watching this series. I've gone back over each episode to help me be able to express my understanding to others. I've been introduced to people I didn't know about, Amy Orr-Ewing in particular. This series is very well done and is suitable for non believing questioners of faith right through to solid believers, especially those of us who are not born evangelists! Highly recommended.

I used this in a bible study recently, and it was excellent at raising discussion on these 'tough' topics. I was surprised and challenged to see how different views on these issues can exist even inside Christian communities, and we all appreciated a strengthening of our collective understanding. \\r\\n\\r\\nGreat resource, can be used with as little or as much depth as you want (with booklet, without, including further suggested resources, etc). Quality of all those involved is top notch. \\r\\n\\r\\nWould highly recommend for anyone wanting a challenging and thoughtful bible study that gives you knowledge about topics to help you in talking to unbelievers.

I found this to be a thought-provoking, discussion-generating, well-researched DVD series that was very helpful to my Bible Study group as we considered some of the 'belief-blockers' that people have with Christianity. There are multiple experts from all over the world presenting their perspectives in a helpful and gentle manner. So much thought has obviously gone into producing this series, and it is very well done. It is worth considering your target before selecting this course, as it definitely suits an educated audience.

I still haven't finished all the topics but the """"bible"""" topic was brilliant. Really shone some light on the authenticity of the bible. Whether it is a reliable source as a historic material. A lot of times people who grew up at church has brought up to accept that the bible is reliable but they don't understand how someone who isn't brought up at church can accept the authenticity of the bible. This DVD really helps someone view the bible from an unbiased perspective and see for themselves whether it is a reliable source! it's amazing :)

After seeing the first episode on TV, my husband and I were so impressed we set aside time each week to view as many as we could. We found the topics well researched, relevant especially to those hurt by their experience of 'Church', very professionally done, yet so real. I highly recommend the series.
