Shortlisted for 2020 Australian Christian Book of the Year

This book will help you know where to start with Islam in the key areas of what it means to love everyone, understanding what Islam teaches about Christianity, how to share the gospel with a Muslim, the incarnation, Trinity, salvation, and the cross. It assesses Muhammad as a prophet, answers the Muslim claims against the Bible, and gives you the relevant history you need to get started. A strength of the book is that it does not require you to remember lots of details about Islam but instead shows how the Bible and Christian theology speaks to Islam.

Samuel Green has spent more than two decades speaking with Muslims and finding out what they are taught about Jesus and his followers: that Jesus wasn't crucified, the Bible is corrupted, and the Trinity is the weak point you won't be able to explain. He has also come to realize that their book, the Qur'an, makes claims about Christianity and history that simply aren't true.Where to Start with Islam will equip you to understand and address these assumptions and know where to start as you seek to present your Muslim friends with Christ and share with them about his wonderful gift of salvation.

    Clear, Effective, Accessible

I had been waiting for a while for Sam Green to publish his material in book form and I am so glad he has. I find his material invaluably useful in articulating the truth of the Bible against the claims of Islam. He shows how the Qur'an is completely out of step with the Torah, Prophets, Psalms and Gospels (see his helpful table on page 48). He also makes a compelling case that Muslims contradict the Qur'an in their claims about the Bible and the crucifixion. Read this if you want to engage with Muslims.

    Highly Recommended!

Samuel Green's book isn't just another book on Islam for Christians, to gather dust on your shelf. Where to Start with Islam is designed to teach Christians about Islam not from the Quran and the Hadiths, but from the Bible. Time spent studying the Bible is never wasted; Green allows the study of the Bible and how it is perceived by the Quran to inform how we as Christians can relate to Muslims. The book shows how asking a few potent questions and opening your Bible to its contents page can stop even seemingly well-informed Muslims in their tracks. Each chapter includes a bullet-point summary to remind you how to apply it and evangelistic booklets for most of the chapters are available to download on Samuel Green's website, so you have some resources to give your Muslim friend. \\n\\nThis is the book I would recommend for engaging with Muslims above all others (with the notable exception of the Bible). That is not to say that there aren't many fantastic resources out there. However, Samuel Green's book contains unique and easy-to-apply insights on evangelism to Muslims, while also exhibiting a deep understanding of Islam's holy texts. For these reasons, I would encourage every Christian to read this book, especially those who are seeking to engage well with Muslims.

Start by listening. What do our Muslim neighbours, shopkeepers and friends believe about Jesus, the cross, salvation, the Bible and history? What common beliefs can we build upon? What fruitless discussions should we avoid? Drawing on decades of experience talking with Muslims about Jesus, Samuel Green sets out clear and effective ways of communicating the gospel. He addresses common objections about the Trinity and the reliability of the Bible, and assumptions about Muhammad, Islamic history and the Crusades. Hints on how to read the Bible with Muslims are especially valuable. This is a practical and timely book.
