"I found Women of the Word to be so practical in the way it demystifies serious Bible study. Too many people - men and women - opt for just reading a few verses and hoping for some inspiration, rather than discovering the meaning of the text in the sweep of God's redemptive plan. Women of the Word will help anyone who reads it to find their way deeper into the Word of God without having to be seminary educated, a genius, or even an especially good student. My only caveat is that I wish the title didn't make it hard for men to read... they need it, too." - Kathy Keller, Assistant Director of Communications, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York City, New York.

Great guide to studying the Bible
This is a fantastic book encouraging women to study and live according to the Bible. Jen inspires women to read the Bible for themselves rather than only relying on pre-written devotionals. The section on study method is a well-written overview, though keen readers will want to supplement it with more detailed instructions. A helpful chapter at the end shares thoughts on how to lead a Bible study. This is great book for any Christian wanting to grow by reading the Bible.

Change the way you read the Bible
If you're only going to read one book about how to study the Bible, I'd say pick this one. Woman of the Word has made me realise how important it is to read the Bible for yourself and to ask God to reveal what He is saying to you. His word is living and active, and you don't need a Bible college degree to hear from Him through it. Jen Wilkin writes in such an encouraging yet challenging way that makes me want to read the Bible for myself. \\nAlso such a pretty cover!

Helpful for readers of all levels
There is so much more to studying the Bible than simply reading it. Wilkin's guide on how to study the Word shed light on that for me Whether you're an experienced scholar of the Scriptures or fairly new, this book provides insightful tips and ideas on how to navigate the Bible passages. \\nI received this as a gift and it was such a blessing! I didn't know much about exegesis or realise the importance of historical/cultural context in understanding the verses and their intended meaning. Definitely a book I would recommend to fellow sisters and brothers in Christ

I recommend this to everyone.
This is the perfect place to start with reading the word for yourself. I recommend it to everyone, whether they are a woman or not. Just cover the 'wo' with a sticky note. Very practical discipleship tool.
