Loving Your Adult Children Without Losing Your Mind (Or Your Heart, Or All Your Money, Or Your Soul)

Your kids will always be your kids. The trick is figuring out how to adapt to the new phases in that parent-child relationship. No question, it can be tricky. And if you fail to navigate that transition well, the result will be stress, alienation, and maybe a broken relationship.

But it doesn't have to be that way. In *Your New Life with Adult Children*, Dr. Gary Chapman—author of the worldwide bestseller *The 5 Love Languages®*—teams up with clinical psychiatrist Dr. Ross Campbell to provide the insights you need when your child moves into adulthood. You'll find help for those moments when:
- Your adult child isn't succeeding
- Your nest isn't emptying
- Your child moves back home
- You have conflict over lifestyle issues
- You become an in-law or grandparent
- And much more...

The book includes brief sidebars from parents of adult children, as well as stories from adult children who relate what works best for them. An online study guide is also available.

Stop wondering how to connect with your adult child. Instead, learn to love them in the ways they so desperately want.

A helpful read for a changing season of life

I picked up this book for some tips on how to transition into this stage of life. Seems like it comes at different ages/times for each person. The examples were helpful and though some weren't pertinent to my season I can keep them in mind for future. Though I didn't agree with everything, I found different perspectives helpful and knowing there are lots of people on both sides who struggle is a good glimpse of society as a whole right now. Love our children at any age, at any stage is the best advice. The chapters dealing with depression and symptoms in younger people was eye opening. The legacy chapter made me consider my own upbringing and how that influenced my parenting etc. I would have liked a sum-it-up chapter at the end too remind me of everything. Still a helpful read.
