1 Samuel - Looking on the Heart (Focus On The Bible Commentary Series)$29.99
The author brings a familiar story line to life, as he brings out many gems from the text. He tells of the events and people in a very interesting manner, and, brings home the lessons we need to consider about God and us. It is easy to read, but definitely not light or trivial. \\n

Can't recommend enough
Dale Ralph Davis' contributions to the Focus on the Bible Commentary series are exceptional in their insight into the features of the Old Testament books and their ability to communicate the meaning of ancient texts. The volume on 1 Samuel also manages to draw out the drama and intrigue of the book. I've never held a commentary so hard to put down.
