    Great story

This book is part of a lovely book series for children. Lots of bible references to assist. There are a couple of sentences for each double page, so these books are suitable for both young kids and contain messages appreciated by older kids too. The story is written by an Aussie. The pictures are very simple but extremely bright and colourful. In short, this book sees the return of Basil (the grapevine branch from 'The gardener and the vine' and 'Basil and the Secatur' stories) and talks about talents, as Basil is overshadowed by the Brilliant Bill!

    Brilliant!

I love these Lost Sheep stories! And my kids do too, which is nice, given they're technically written for the kids and not the adult's enjoyment! Let's just say we enjoy them together. But really, the whole series is great, and this one is no different. It's all about poor Basil again, a branch on the grapevine. \\n\\nThis time, poor Basil is becoming more and more depressed by Bill the Brilliant Branch, who, of course, is good at everything - growing grapes, being high, being smart. Basil is nothing next to Bill. But then, the vine comes along and reminds them both where their true worth lies - in being part of the vine. Lots of fun to read and a really great reminder to kids and adults alike to stop comparing ourselves to others and be who God made us to be. \\n

    Great teaching for kids

This book can be good to teach children not to be proud or to brag. It shows them that without God we can't do anything. It can also be good for teaching children that it doesn't matter how good someone is at something. We will all get to heaven if we are attached to the vine.
