**A purposeful guide for twenty- and thirty-somethings to understand and embrace their calling as well as immediate next steps for their lives.**

You've heard people say, "Who you are matters more than what you do." But does the Bible really teach that?

In Garden City, popular pastor and speaker John Mark Comer gives a surprisingly counter-cultural take on the typical "spiritual" answer of the church. Comer explores Scripture to discover God's original intent for how we are meant to spend our time, reshaping how you view and do your work, rest, and life.

Here, you'll find answers to questions like:
- Does God care where I work?
- Does he have a clear direction for me?
- What about what I do with my free time or how much rest I get?

In these pages, you'll learn that it's ultimately about the reality that what we do matters, just as much as who we are.

But the journey is designed to let each of us see where we are to find ourselves in God's good plan to partner with us in the redemption of all creation. There is in *Garden City* an intoxication with the Bible's biggest and life-changing ideas."

    Another great book by Comer

Comer has an epic way of writing that is truthful and cuts through to meaning and change. A good book to inspire good work and good rest. I didn’t love the ending, not sure his summary points captured the book well - at least not my main take aways, and not sure I agreed with some of his final interpretations

    Incredibly helpful and insightful

I first listened to Garden City as an audiobook, and it was incredible. I went on to buy the book to refer back to. I felt that Garden City spoke so well to the work that I do as a graphic designer, whether any of it matters, the importance of work vs rest, and what we are actually meant to do with our lives, according to the Bible. I would recommend this book to anyone at a crossroads in their career, starting out on their journey not knowing what direction to take, or those who feel weary in their work and are looking for a change. I appreciated the well chosen typeface and the book was a nice designerly addition to my bookshelf.
