Read M Henry’s background and history and it will reveal his desire to be faithful to God in serving Him as a minister and in giving the Word of God due diligence in this commentary. Great to add to personal Bible reading but all readers should also seek the Spirit as He is our Teacher and Guide to discern and test what is true or not.

Classic
Matthew Henry's commentary is a classic. It contains serious engagement and interpretation of the Bible, woven through with stirring, experiential, devotional application. The language and older style may not suit some readers. Otherwise, this is a highly recommended commentary for all readers.
